The existing kitchen was small and had a low ceiling and this couple love to cook and entertain so we moved the kitchen to the existing dining room creating a generous kitchen-diner focussed on the fireplace and without disturbing any original cornice work. The Units are a combination of a piece we designed using salvaged wood with stainless steel and rubber island units in the centre. The cook can then be at the centre of the action, overlooking both the dining area and looking through the newly created opening into the living room. Inspiration throughout came from the owners’ eclectic art collection and original fashion sense. In the basement we created a suite of connecting spaces, a large master bedroom linked to a custom fitted dressing room by a large wet room. The old kitchen was made into a saddlery decorated with Ralph Lauren paper.
